Sutton's one-way system, parking zones and your Citroën service
Round the Throwley Way and St Nicholas Way one-way system, past the Civic Centre and Library, traffic moves in short bursts with lights and car park queues. The Sutton Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone means a car cannot just be left on the street, so for Citroën owners around Trinity Church and the station, collection and delivery often makes more sense than bringing the car to us themselves.
Most Citroëns we see from Sutton are C3s, C4s and C3 Aircross or C5 Aircross SUVs with the 1.2 PureTech. Some of these engines use more oil than they should, and on this engine running low matters because the timing belt lives in the oil. We record consumption at each service so you can see if it changes, and we measure the belt against the current interval for your engine rather than the original handbook figure. The manufacturer has shortened the interval on many versions, so an older printed schedule can be misleading.
Out along Sutton Common Road, with its traffic calming and school-run traffic, the pattern is short trips and plenty of low-speed driving. That is fine for a petrol, but diesels with a DPF struggle. If yours is a BlueHDi, we check soot loading and AdBlue system data at the service. The A217 by-pass nearby is a useful road for a regenerating run if the filter is loading up. Twenty minutes at a steady speed is often enough to let a regeneration finish, and we will tell you if the readings suggest the filter needs more than that.
Every job beyond the service is quoted in writing first, and our repairs are covered by a 3-month workmanship warranty. The drive to Hackbridge runs east on Carshalton Road and up past Carshalton station, about 2.4 miles. Most services are ready the same day, so the car can be back outside your house by evening.
