Rose Hill roundabout, shift work and fitting in a Citroën service
The Rose Hill roundabout joins the A217, A297 and B278 in one busy junction, with buses, lane changes and a 20mph limit on the roundabout itself. For a C3 or C4 Picasso with an EGS or ETG automated manual gearbox, that pattern of creeping, stopping and pulling off again is where clutch wear shows first, as jerky starts or hesitation. We read the stored clutch wear values and test the actuator, and a relearn sometimes solves it without new parts. Where a clutch is needed, the relearn afterwards is essential, otherwise the new clutch can feel just as jerky as the old one.
Wrythe Lane past St Helier Hospital is busy all day, and plenty of the cars parked around it belong to staff on long shifts. We know that fitting in a service is harder when your week is not nine to five. We are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, which makes an early drop-off or an evening collection realistic, and collection and delivery can be arranged if you cannot get away.
For older cars across the estate, the 1.6 HDi diesel is common, and the two things we look for are injector seal leaks and the turbo oil feed pipe. A chuffing noise and a diesel smell point to the seals. A whining turbo on the same engine points to the feed pipe filter, which can block and starve it. Both are cheaper caught early, and both are quoted in writing before we do anything. Neither is a job to leave until the next MOT.
If you commute from St Helier or Sutton Common station, leaving the car with us and returning later is simple. Repairs carry our 3-month workmanship warranty, and the drive is quick: Wrythe Lane past the hospital to Wrythe Green, then the B277 into Hackbridge. From the Rose Hill parades we are about 2.5 miles away.
