Vans, fleets and business vehicles in South London
When a vehicle is how the money is earned, a garage gets judged on days off the road rather than on its hourly rate. We look after sole traders with one van, companies running a handful of cars and vans, and private hire drivers who cannot lose a Tuesday. Servicing, MOT, repairs, bodywork and recovery are all handled at the same Hackbridge site, so a van with a knocked wing and a due service is one booking rather than two. Van and fleet servicing starts from £93, and if yours has to stay with us there is usually something else to drive.

Work for a business is not a different kind of spanner, it is a different set of priorities. A private customer wants the car right; a business wants it right and back by Thursday with paperwork the accounts office can use. So this side of the operation is arranged around scheduling as much as repair. MOT dates are tracked against the registration, services are planned into your quieter weeks, and jobs are grouped so a vehicle comes off the road once instead of three times. We cover cars used for work, light commercial vans, private hire and taxi vehicles, and small mixed fleets of both. Anything unusually heavy or specialised deserves a phone call before you book, so we can tell you plainly what we can take and what we cannot.
Booking starts with two things: the registration and the date you need the vehicle back. From the registration we can see what is due, what was advised last time and whether the MOT is close enough to be worth doing in the same visit. Keys can be dropped from 8am and collected until 8pm, Monday to Saturday, which for most drivers removes the need to give up a working day. If the vehicle is going to have to stay overnight, you are told that at the point we know, not at five o'clock. Anything found beyond the booked work goes to whoever signs off spending with a price beside it, and the vehicle waits until that answer comes back.
For a business the number that matters is cost per vehicle over a year, not the labour rate on the wall, so every job is quoted in writing and every registration is itemised. That makes it obvious when one vehicle is quietly costing more than the rest of the fleet. Servicing for vans and fleet vehicles starts from £93 and the MOT is £50, under the DVSA maximum of £54.85, the same as for any private customer. Where a repair can safely wait, we will say so and put a date against it; where it cannot, we say that too. Purchase order numbers, VAT invoices and payment terms are agreed before the first vehicle arrives, and business repairs carry the same three-month workmanship warranty as the rest of our work.
What we do
Servicing and scheduled maintenance
Manufacturer-schedule servicing for vans, pool cars and mixed fleets, planned around when the vehicles are least needed.
MOT, brakes and tyres
The roadworthiness items an employer is responsible for, measured at every visit so replacement can be budgeted rather than sprung on you.
Breakdowns and keeping moving
What happens when a working vehicle stops, from getting it here to putting a driver in something else.
Van bodywork and livery
Scrapes, dents and collision damage on working vehicles, including panels that carry signwriting or wrap.
Why drivers choose us for this
Open 8am to 8pm, six days
Drivers can drop off before the first job and collect after the last one. Six days of opening also means a Saturday service costs nobody a weekday.
Every job on one site
Service, MOT, mechanical repair, bodyshop and recovery truck are all at Soho Mills. A van with two separate problems is one booking and one invoice.
Keeping the driver working
Hire vehicles start from £30 per day, and a courtesy car depends on what is free that week. For a fleet, local collection and delivery usually costs a driver less time than either.
Invoiced per vehicle registration
Costs are itemised vehicle by vehicle so they can be allocated internally. Purchase order numbers and VAT invoicing are set up before work begins.

Common questions
What size vehicles can you MOT and service?
Class 4 takes in cars and any goods vehicle whose design gross weight is 3,000kg or under, so most car-derived and medium panel vans sit inside it. Vans above that and up to 3,500kg fall into Class 7. Servicing and repair reach further up the weight range than testing does. Give us the plated weight for each vehicle and we will set out what can be tested with us and what we can work on.
Can we open an account and pay on invoice?
Yes. Tell us how your purchasing works and we will match it, whether that means a purchase order number on every job, named people authorising spend up to a set limit, or a single VAT invoice covering a period. Getting that agreed before the first vehicle arrives avoids a repair sitting finished while somebody hunts for approval.
Do you look after private hire and taxi vehicles?
We do, and they wear differently from private cars because of the mileage and the stop-start nature of the work. Brakes, suspension bushes and hybrid twelve-volt batteries are the usual casualties. The licensing inspection itself has to be carried out by your licensing authority's own approved station, but we can prepare the vehicle for it and put right anything it picks up.
How quickly can you turn a van around?
A service or MOT booked in advance is normally same-day, and we will tell you when to collect at the point of booking. Repairs depend on parts, so if the vehicle is critical, say so when you ring and we will check availability before you commit to a date rather than after. Where a part is going to take days, it is often better to keep the van working and book it for when the part lands.
